This fibre is one of the strongest on the market. It has the ability to float on water (density of 0.97 g/cm³) along with strong UV and chemical resistance, making HMPE well suited to the marine industry.
HMPE is also well suited for cut and abrasion resistant applications, however the fibre does have a low melting point comparable to other technical fibres.
